THE PLAY

This play is a depiction of how the baggage we carry can be the weight that prevents us from moving forward in life and growing  in love.  Eventually, we start to unpack those emotions and insecurities on the ones closest to us, which inevitably becomes a burden that not only we carry, but others feel compelled to have to carry .

Our past and present life circumstances and experiences from being molested, abused emotionally and physically, abandonment, neglect, rape, abortion, death, etc. can be the cancer and the decaying of our natural ability to Love freely with vulnerability. Our shame will not let the hurt heal the pain. We miss the opportunity to demonstrate effectively when trying to Love our children, husbands, people etc.

We become so consumed with the weight, we lose sight of God's intention for our lives. When someone feels damaged they feel non-repairable, broken, useless like “Damage Goods.”

Our frustration and our inability to be able  to change our present and past circumstances cause us to react emotionally irrational, settling for less than God's best. Desiring the wrong affection or a fix that can only leave us with a temporary solution leaves us  “addicted” causing  us to chase a high that can only be fulfilled by God's Love. Pain becomes the comfort.

The silent whispers of God's divine intervention become faint and we miss the moment to move towards healing. Sometimes our misguided desires will cause us to take our attention off  of what’s most important  to distract us causing the assassination of our  plans, dreams, Goals and even our life.

Bag Ladies is an exhibit of the true story behind most women and the baggage we carry spiritually and emotionally from our past and present crises to our generational curses.
